YOUR FAITH WITH CORRESPONDING ACTIONS: Another translation reads, . . . "Deluding your own selves." There are many self-deluded people who blame their problems on the devil or some individual when really they have deluded themselves or deceive themselves. This is because they are not doers of the Word. The actions of a doer of the Word Coincide his or her confession ! THE STORMS OF THIS LIFE: (Matthew 7:24-27). "Therefore whosoever heareth the sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house [life] upon a rock [the word]: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And everyone that heareth the sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house [life] upon the sand [earth]: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house [life]; and it fell: and great was the fall of it." The storms of life comes to us all. They may be storms of sickness, financial difficulties, family problems, or some other test. It isn't the storms of life that defeats us, However. If storms defeats us they were defeated all of us. No, it's our reaction to the storms that the defeats us. Jesus is speak to the mountain ! As the winds blow and the floods,, he who is a doer of the word will hold fast to his or her confession of what they believe by saying or confessing it, which is his or her faith. Because he or she knows God cannot fail. If sickness,, he stands his or her ground and refused to accept it based upon the promise of the Word of God. Others made be defeated in the same test. Those who are not defeated by life's storms act on God's Word. Those are defeated may be truly saved, yet their words and their actions do not correspond with what they are saying ! The same when the storms came from both houses in our text. The reason one was destroyed and the other was is because the wise man was a doer of the Word, and the foolish man wasn't. Many profess Christ Jesus and declare they believe the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, yet they are not doers of the Word. They are talking about the Word. There is a difference. The "talkers" have mentally assisted that the Word of God is true, but is it true in their life ? It doesn't do them any good, because they are not making it there own ! They are not claiming its promises. They are using the Name of Jesus as if it were some lucky rabbit's foot !
