WHAT IT MEANS TO BELIEVE WITH THE HEART (PART 2) To believe with all of our heart is to believe with our spirit man or woman, independently of our minds or bodys. As I said before spiritual things are just as realer as material or physical things. God is just as real as if He had a physical body, although He doesn't. He is a Spirit. Jesus has a physical body now--- flesh and bone body--- but not flesh and blood. After His Resurrection, He appeared to the disciples, and They Thought He was a spirit or ghost. When our body is put in the grave, we still have a building with God that is not made when hanging, and we still live eternity in the heavens or hell. Who is going to be absent from the body ? We are-- the real man or woman--- the inward man or woman. In (1 Peter 3:4) our spirit is called "the hidden man of the heart." Here we see the word "heart" again. The inward man or woman-- is our spirit--- is called the hidden man. He is a man of the heart, of the spirit. He is hidden to the physical or the natural man. In (Romans 7:22) the spirit is called the "inward man." "For I delight in the law of God after the inward man." Here he is referring to the law of faith. So we see this "inward man" and the "hidden man" gives us God's definition of the human spirit. The real man is spirit or the real woman is spirit; he or she has a body and a soul. With his or her spirit they contact the spiritual realm. With his or her soul they contact the intellectual. With his or her body they contact the physical. We cannot contact God with our mind. Neither can we contact God with our body. We can contact God only with our spirit. THE WORD OF GOD---KEY TO THE HEART OF FAITH: when we hear the word of God preached, we hear it with our natural mind. Before we were believers or Christians, the Holy Spirit, through the Word, spoke to our heart or our spirit. We read in (1 Corinthians 2:14), "The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God . . ." One translation says, "The natural man or the natural mind understandeth not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him. Neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned." We don't understand the Bible when our mind. Although many people try and fail. It is spiritually understood. We understand it with our spirit, or our heart. That is the reason we may read certain passages dozens of times and never understand their true meaning. Then one day we suddenly see what God is showing us through His Word. You shouldn't handle the Word of God as if it were a novel ! It is at that moment that we understand it with our heart. We Have To Get the Revelation of God's Word in our spirit or heart. That is why we must depend upon the Spirit of God to open and unveil the Word of God to us. Therefore, to believe with the heart means to believe with the spirit. How does our spirit good faith that our intellect cannot obtain ? The answer is: through the Word of God.
