THERE IS POWER IN THE WORD: "Who, being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high" (Hebrews 1:3). If we have fellowship with Him, The Father and His Son Jesus As Well As the Holy Spirit and we are walking in the light of God's word as He is in the light, then prayer becomes one of the sweetest and greatest privileges we have. "He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the light being, the out raying or radiance of the divine and He is the perfect imprint and very image of God's nature, upholding and maintaining and girding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. When he had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine majesty on high" the amplified Bible. The same Scripture that was quoted above ! To hear so many people talk, one would think prayer is pure drudgery. We hear them talk about fighting and struggling; about trying to believe. But it never has been a problem or a fight for me to pray. It always has been a joy. It never has taken anything out of me to pray; it puts something in me. I often pray in secret that my Father may reward me openly. You must get the word of promise off the pages of the Bible, in your mouth and then he gets in your heart. Jesus said if you abide in me and my words abide in you you can ask what you will and it will be done unto you ! The condition is getting the word to abide in you in abundance, because from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks ! The trouble with people who have such difficulty with prayer is that instead of letting the Holy Spirit help them with the fruit of their lips; and pray through them, they tried to do it all on their own natural senses or energy --- in their own energy, naturally this wears them out. God wants us to come to the place of resting in Him: "for with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to his people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith you may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing . . ." (Isaiah 28:11-12). We can find a time of refreshing in the Lord as we pray in other tongues. Many people are doing exactly what God said not to do in their prayer time that is "be not like the heathens ! "But when you pray, go into your most private room, and closing the door, pray to your Father, who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you in the open. And when you pray, do not heap up phrases multiply words, repeating the same ones over and over as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard for their much speaking. (1 Kings 18:25--29). Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him." (Matthew 6:6-7-8).
