THE SIX MOST IMPORTANT THINGS IN PRAYER (PART 2): The Apostle Paul said that when he prayed in an unknown tongue, his spirit prayed. When you pray in tongues, it is your spirit praying by the Holy Spirit within you. Likewise, your groanings is the Holy Spirit within you groanings. I sometimes have been so burdened and proud that I didn't have adequate words to express my thoughts. All I could do was groan form somewhere way down deep inside me. The apostle Paul says these groanings that escape our lips come from our spirit -- our innermost being. When this happens, it is the spirit helping us pray, as we see in (Romans 8:26). According to the late P. C. Nelson, the literal Greek translation of (Romans 8:26) says, "The Spirit Himself maketh intercession for us with groanings that cannot be uttered in articulate speech." Articulate speech means your regular kind of speech. Speaking with tongues is not your regular kind of speech, so this verse include speaking and praying with other tongues. The apostle Paul said the Holy Spirit would help us in our prayer life. That's why it is very important that you begin the renewal process of the mind, because the soul of man did not get saved you are told to work out your soul salvation. The soul is the makeup of your will, emotions, and your intellect; your thinker ! Why ? ". . . For we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us. . ." (Romans 8:26). We do not always understand everything concerning what we are praying about, but the Holy Spirit does. When we allow Him to pray through us -- to help us in our prayer life --- when you remind God of what he said in His Word in your prayer life you will see amazing answers to your prayers ! If I know specific details about what I'm praying for, I can find the particular Scripture or Scriptures; then I can believe God when I pray, and I will receive them. However, sometimes there are things we know we need to pray about, but we do not know how to pray for them. Some people keep up phrases like "God bless sister so-and-so or brother so-and-so touching Lord." When the Scriptures has already said that God has blessed us with all things that pertain unto life and godliness. You are the one to lay hands on them to do the touching, and when you do what God says He said that they shall recover. The Holy Spirit knows, and He can help us. It is easier to have faith for needs like rent and groceries because we know what we are praying for. But there are other situations and circumstances in life that aren't so easy to pray for. There have been times in my own life when I have told the Lord I didn't know exactly how I should pray concerning my wife or my immediate family when I know there is a problem, I begin praying in tongues, and most of the time before I get through, I have the answer.
