THE SIX MOST IMPORTANT THINGS IN PRAYER (PART 1). There is something about believing God that will cause Him to pass over a million people to get to the person that will believe Him ! Many times I have asked people as they got up from praying, what they believed. Often they have answered "Well, I hope God heard me." I tell them He didn't. Because, it is written, "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will [word], he heareth us; and if we know that he hear us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him." (1 John 5:14-15). In His Word He says, "if you Believe you shall receive," not, "if you hope you shall receive." He didn't say to "keep on keeping on" until you get the answer. He said when you pray you should believe you receive. When you believe you receive, you don't have to pray all night long. You can go to bed and sleep peacefully, knowing God has heard you and has answered your prayer. It's the most wonderful thing in the world to be able to pillow your head on the promises of God and sleep like a baby. Everything around you might be in turmoil, but in the midst of it you can have peace. This lesson is with the six most important things the believer should know about prayer. It is a matter of believing with the heart, not with your head. It is written again, "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:10). Now, believing with the heart is not talking about the blood pump that pumps the blood through the veins of your body. It is talking about the inward man the hidden man of you. You see you are something more than just flesh and bones in fact you are a eternal being that was an is created in the image and likeness of God. You are a spirit, that lives in a body, that possesses a soul. (1 Thessalonians 5:23). "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." When you confess Jesus as Lord, something happens to the human spirit. It is called The New Birth ! Because you have confessed the Word. Jesus is the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God ! (John 1:1). The soul of men and women did not get saved; that's why people still do and think like the world. You were told to do something with your soul which is the makeup of your will, emotions, and intellect. (Romans 12:1-2). "I Beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world, but be you transformed [changed] by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." You is the subject in this text, you must do what God said in order to have an effective prayer life.
