STEP 5 -- THE REALITY OF THE AUTHORITY OF JESUS NAME AND THE WORD OF GOD: (John 14:13--14). "And whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you shall ask anything in my name, I will do it." Suppose a wealthy man were to give you a signed statement stating that you were entitled to use his name and thereby receive anything you might need in order to live comfortably. Suppose this was a legal document, given before witnesses, whereby everyone of your knees could be met for the rest of your life. Does this sound to good too be true ? The wonderful part of it is that it is true ! God has given us "the power of attorney" to use the name of Jesus and His powerful Word to meet our every need: spiritual, physical, or financial. He has given us power over Satanic forces. He has said he will give us, whatsoever you shall ask in my name." (Revelation 19:12-13). "And he was clothed with a vesture dripped in blood; and his name is called The Word of God. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself." Many believers today disassociate Jesus from the Word ! And He is the very creator of all things ! "All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made." In him was life; and the life was the light of men." (John 1:3-4). "Colossians 1:16). "For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exists through Him by his service, intervention and and for Him. And he Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist [cohere, are held together." (Proverbs 8:23--31). Hebrews 1:3). "Who, being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the Word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high," John says, "in the beginning [before all time] was the Word [Christ] and Christ means the Anointed or the Anointed One, and the Word was with God, and the Word Was God Himself (Isaiah 9:6).
