THE AUTHORITY OF JESUS NAME AND THE WORD : Jesus gave us the power of attorney, the right to use His Name and the Word. God hears and answers prayer. We might as well settled that. It works when you speak or declare what is written ! Too often people just make a stab at in the dark at prayer. They call it praying and let it go at that. They hope something works out some way or other. We need to take our stand on God's Word and let heaven, hell, and earth no that God's Word is true and we believe it. We need to grow in prayer of the Word of God. Many times God condescends to meet us on an elementary level, but it is better that we grow spiritually and meet Him on His level. The Bible teaches there is a similarity between physical growth and spiritual growth. "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow thereby" (1 Peter 2:2). No one is born a four grown adult. There are three stages of growth that are recorded in (1 John 2:12-13-14). "I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name sake. I write unto you, fathers, because you have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young man because you have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because you have known the far. I have written unto you, father, because you have known him that is from the beginning I have written unto you, young man, because you are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and you have overcome the wicked one." So, you can see from this text there are three stages of Christian growth. No one is born a full-grown adult. In fact very few people ever reach the adult level. We are born as babies and grow up. No one is born a full-grown believer, either. Believers are newborn babies and grow up. As we mature in the Word, not religion or church creed or doctrine, our prayer life should improve. When I was a child I prayed, "Now I lay me down to sleep. . ." But I don't pray that way anymore, I've grown beyond that. When we were spiritual babies we made have prayed certain ways, but God wants us to grow spiritually. God requires more of us now than He did a few years ago. Many of you, are still in the little children section, perhaps maybe because you want to stay there. Remember now strong meat belongs to those who are mature ! I have said some things in past lessons that perhaps was for those who are mature; and I have also said some things that are for baby believers.
