HOW TO TRAIN THE HUMAN SPIRIT : RULE 3: GIVING THE WORD FIRST PLACE ! (Proverbs 4:20-22-23). "My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my saying. Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh. Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it [heart or the spirit man) flow the springs of life." The amplified Bible. With so many different voices surrounding us, it is difficult to to stop and listen to the voice of the Word of God. So many people are self to deceive and paying more attention to entertainment, music, and media ! And they cannot see how the enemy is stealing their fellowship and relationship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ who is the Word. Family and friends always are ready to give us their opinions and advice. However, an essential part of training the spiritual man is learning to listen to what God's word has to say to us. And I may add, if you're not renewing your mind with the Word of God, then what are you using to renew the mind ? Many people give everything else first place in their lives, I'm talking about those who say they are believers are Christians ! And the minute something comes up on their lives then asking everybody to pray for them. If you will give the word first place in your lives, then you ought to know how to pray according to the Scriptures for your self. In the verses quoted above, God tells us to do three things with His Word :(1). Listen to it; (2). Read it out loud; because faith in God only comes by hearing and by hearing the Word of God. (Romans 10:17). And (3). Meditate it. In verse 20 we read "attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings." Anytime the Bible is being read out loud -- in Bible study, in family devotions, on a Gospel radio or television program -- give careful attention to its words. Verse 21 tells us, "Let them not depart from thine eyes." In other words, spend time alone reading God's word out loud. Let it sink deep into your thoughts and your heart. King David tapped into this one when he said in (Psalms 45:1). "My heart overflows with a goodly theme; I address my psalm to a king. My tongue is like the pin of a ready writer. The apostle Paul said it this way (Romans 10:8). "But what does it say ? In other words what does the word says ? The Word God's message in Christ is near you, on your lips and in your heart; that is, the Word the message, the base is an object of faith which we preach," if you do these three things, You Will Find That God's Words are "life unto those that find them, and healing to all their flesh" (v. 22). You will enter into the abundant life in Christ Jesus you will find physical healing for your bodies. All you need to do is give God's word first place in your life. Jesus said it this way ! In (John 6:63) It Is the Spirit who gives life (He Is the Life Giver]; the flesh conveys no benefit whatever [there is no profit in it]. The words [truths] that I have been speaking to you are spirit and life."1
