FROM PRISON TO A PRAYER GROUP !: Many are in prison because of habits they have developed over the years. In prison to alcohol, in prison to cigarettes, in prison to drugs, even to sex addictions, pornography. It is written, in (Romans 6:16). "Do you not know that if you continually surrender yourselves to any one to do his will, you are the slaves of him whom you obey, whether that be to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience which leads to righteousness [right doing and right standing with God ? (Romans 6:16) The spirit that is behind these addictions that would mention up above, many have submitted their will to it. It is written again in verse 17. "But thank God, though you were once slaves of sin, you have become obedient with all your heart to the standard of teaching in which you were instructed and to which you were committed. And having been set free from sin, you have become the servants of righteousness [of conformity to the divine will in thought, purpose, and action." The amplified Bible did God answer the United prayer Paul and Silas ? (Acts 16:26) says, "And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were open and everyone's bands were loose." Again the place was shaken as a result of United prayer ! When Paul and Silas joined forces in prayer and praise to God, the very foundations of the prison were shaken ! The stocks came off their feet, and they were free. The jailer, awakened by the earthquake, saw the prisons door standing open and assume the prisoners had fled. He knew he would be held responsible for their escape, and he became so frightened that he was going to kill himself. Just then Paul cried out, ". . . Do thyself no harm: for we are all here" (v. 28). Many people try to overcome these obstacles in their own strength and have not the Word of God deep rooted in them ! The jailer knew he had witnessed the supernatural that night. He knew Paul and Silas were no ordinary men, and he " . . . Came trembling and fell down before Paul and Silas, and brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved ? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shall be saved, in essence what they were saying will believe on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ who is the Word of God are the Bread that came down from heaven, and thy house" (v. 29-31). As a result of Paul and Silas United prayer that night, the Jell-O and his entire family accepted Christ as Savior and all were baptized. There is supernatural power in United prayer ! "These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication. . ." (Acts 1:14).
