FAITH TO CAST OUT DEVILS !

FAITH TO CAST OUT DEVILS: (Matthew 17:14-20). "And when they approached the multitude, a man came up to Him, kneeling before Him and saying, Lord, do. And have mercy on my son, for he has epilepsy (is Moon struck) and he suffers terribly; for frequently he falls into the fire and many times into the water. And I brought him to Your disciples, and they were not able to cure him. And Jesus answered, O you unbelieving (warped, wayward, rebellious) and thoroughly perverse generation ! How long am I to remain with you ? How long am I to share with you ? Bring him here to Me. And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was cured instantly. Then the disciples came to Jesus and asked privately, why could we not drive it out ? He said to them, Because of the littleness of your faith [that is, your lack of firmly relying trust]. For truly I say to you, if you have faith [that is living] like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to yonder place, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you." The amplified Bible. In the above passage, what was Jesus explanation for the disciples failure to heal the demon possessed boy ? It was because of their doubt and unbelief (v. 20). But did the disciples actually have the power to cast the demon out ? Yes, according to (Matthew 10:1), "And when he had called unto him his 12 disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of diseases." We often hear Christians or believers say they need more power to do more for God. However, that is not there trouble at all ! If they have the Holy Spirit they have the power. They think if they had more power, it would work automatically -- but it works by faith. And faith comes by hearing and by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). Faith is in your mouth and then he gets in your heart ! The problem is a lack of faith, not a lack of power ! I'm talking about the God kind of faith that will speak to a problem area in one's life ! It is doubt that is robbing people of God's best. Jesus didn't tell the disciples that their failure to cast the devil out was because they didn't have the power; he said it was because of their unbelief. Many people have little or no understanding that there is power in words. How much faith does it take to cast out demons ? Jesus said in the above scripture passage that faith no larger than a grain of mustard seed could move and entire mountain. Every Spirit filled believer has within him or her enough power to claim God's very best for his or her life ! If he or she is living beneath their privileges, it is not because of a lack of power, but because of a failure to release that power of faith through the power of the tongue. (Proverbs 18:21).
