AUTHORITY TO CALL AND CLAIM YOUR FAMILY SAVED: Every believer Of God's Word has authority in his or her own household. We have more authority there than we have anywhere else. (Acts 16:31) tells us, ". . . Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, AND THY HOUSE." Too many people, in prayer for their family, have struggled and begging God to save them, but they have not backed up their prayer by calling for the promise of God's Word. Thus, they have prayed in darkness instead of in the light of God's Word. Our text says, ". . . If we ask anything according to his will [Word] we know that salvation for our children or anyone else is God's will], he heareth us: And if we know that he hears us. . . We know that we have the petitions that we desire of him" (1 John 5:14-15). If we know God heard us, we don't have to keep begging Him to save our children or anyone else because what we are seeing. This doesn't mean that the whole family will come to Christ overnight, because they have their part to play which is an act of their will !, But as we stand in faith, thanking God, they will be saved. For us to continue asking and begging God is a confession that we don't believe we have our petition. In other words, many read the Bible, and struggle with believing the Bible. If we really believe we have the petitions we desire of the Lord, as the Scripture says, we will be thanking Him for it ! Sometime, you see, we go through the right motions but without the right believing. The Scripture says, (Romans 10:10). "For with the heart a person believe [adheres to, trust in, and relies on Christ] [The Word] and so is justified [declared righteous, acceptable to God], and openly and speaks out freely his faith] and confirms [his] salvation." The amplified Bible. We can go through the motions because someone told us to do so or because someone else did it, but for it to work, we must have faith for the answered now in our hearts. The thought never entered my mind that our children or anyone else will not be saved, because I had authority and power in that area. However your body cannot come against a person's will, neither will God ! I pray for them once they call or claim their salvation on the basis of the Word. When the thought would call to me that they might not be saved, I will reject it immediately in the name of Jesus because I have God's Word. I have confidence -- I have boldness -- that our children will be saved because I have prayed according to God's will. Knowing what the will of God is concerning lost souls, we never should pray, "Lord, if it be your will, save this person or that person." We know it is His will to save that which is lost !
