TRAINGING THE BODY: The world will tell you that dieting and exercise is training your body ! You have to train your body to pray. It had to be obedient to the spirit man. The words we speak in prayer do have a definite effect on our bodies. (1 Timothy 4:8). "For physical training is of some value (useful for a little) but godliness (spiritual training) is useful and of value in everything and in every way for it holds promise for the present life and also for the life which is to come." The amplified Bible. When we pray or continue to save the problem, the body reacts to line with our speaking or praying. Learn to use the Word of God to control your body. The apostle Paul said, "Mortify the deeds of the body." (Romans 8:13) Modification of the flesh is an act by which an individual or group seeks to modify or put to death, their sinful nature as a part of the process of sanctification. Modification of the flesh is undertaken in order to repent for sins and share in the passion of Jesus. How do you do that ? You can't take a knife to modify the deeds of the body; you will hurt yourself. But you can use words to put to death it's deeds by training the body to react to God's Word. You can cause your body to come into subjection to your spirit. Because the word of God is spirit and it is truth ! The apostle Paul said, "I keep my body and bring it under less why I preach the gospel I become a castaway." In the literal Greek, the apostle Paul actually said, "I buffet my body." Buffet means "to slap with an open hand or clutched fist." Train your spirit man to believe what you say will come to pass by practicing tongue control. In the area of sickness, I believe we give place to the devil when we say, "wonder what is wrong with me ?" The devil can then get out his little flip chart and say, "Well, would you believe you are taking the flu ?" We say, "Well, I haven't been feeling too good." Then we begin to reason, "it could be the flu are it could be covid 19. My neighbor had it last week and I went over and pray for him or her. That must be why I caught it ! Satan suggested it and you reason your self into it ! The mind is a terrible thing to waste when it is not being renewed with the Word of God: You are in fact renewing your mind to be conformed to the world ! (Romans 12:1-2).
