THE ABILITY AND AUTHORITY: Prayer is one of the means of releasing the ability of God and constantly saying what he says will also release the ability and authority. God has power to do anything. He has the ability to destroy the devil, but He can't do it now because of His Word. His Word is out and He will not go against it. We know what the ENE is going to be because the overall picture is in the Bible. Read the back of the book--- we the believer wins ! The devil will be put in the pit for a thousand years, then loose for a little time, and finally cast into the lake of fire with all those who are following him. But until that time, God has done all He is going to do about the devil. Guess what ? It is your responsibility to take care of him. You have dominion and authority through The Word of His Name. You are to cast him out. God's word gives us instructions on how to use our authority to defeat Satan: "submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). How do you resist the devil ? Jesus gives us an illustration of resisting the devil (Matthew 4:1 through 11) V. 4 "but he answered and said, it is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of God." You are responsible for telling the enemy what is written ! "Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil as a roaring lion, walk it about, seeking whom he may devour; whom resist steadfast in the faith." In other words steadfast in the Word ! (1 Peter 5:8-9). When Satan comes against you, use the name of The Word of God, use the authority Jesus gave you. God is not going to do it for you. The power of binding and loosing is not in heaven; it is on earth--- and it is yours. Jesus gave believers authority to preach the gospel, healed the sick, cast out demons, and raise the dead. The Angels can't preach the gospel. In the 10th Chapter of Acts when Cornelius prayed, God sent an angel to talk to him. In essence, this is what the angel said to him: I can't preach the gospel to you, but I can tell you where there is a man who can preach the gospel. He is staying with Simon the tanner by the seashore. Go call for Peter. He will come preach the gospel to you and tell you what to do." Have you ever wonder why the angel didn't preach the gospel to him ? Because, in this dispensation, they do not have that authority. The authority in this earth has been delivered to believers. We have the authority, but we have been praying for God to do the things He has told us to do, such as healed the sick, cleanse the leper, cast out demons, and raise the dead. (Matthew 10:1-8). These things are as mountings before us, but God's ability can perform them. Learn to release God's ability !
