MIX THE WORD WITH YOUR WORDS: Israel became afraid of the Giants. Fear came because of the evil report. Fear is belief in Satan and of those who do his bidding. When you are afraid something will happen, that means you believe it will happen. If you are afraid something bad will happen, that means you have more faith in the devil's ability to hinder you than you have in God's ability to put you over. "Let us therefore fear." We can insert the word believe here. "Let us therefore believe, lest, a promise been left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: But the Word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it." (Hebrews 4:12). What did they hear ? and according to the Scriptures faith comes by hearing and by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). The Word preached did not profit them because it was not mixed with faith. Your words or either faith words, or feel words ! They didn't mix faith with what they heard. When we pray, we must mix faith with our words. Just saying words is not praying. Mix God's Word with your words. Israel did not mix God's word with what they heard except Joshua and Caleb. Israel mix fair with it. The mixturer was the tongue, and it is still the mixer today ! (See Numbers 13:32-33). In (Mark 11:24) Jesus tells us to believe that we receive our desires when we pray or say. One translation says, "Believe that you receive them." If I do that when I pray, or say, I must mix God's word with my words: that is faith that is speaking ! Father, I thank You for You have heard me and I believe that I have received. Someone says, "why don't you just believe it and not say anything" ? Here are five reasons: (1). "He shall have whatsoever he saith" (Mark 11:23). (2). "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh" (Matthew 12:34). (3). "We also believe, and therefore speak" (2 Corinthians 4:13). (4). "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). (5). "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also" (James 2:26). Your words are the spirit of your faith or the spirit of fear !
