FAITH IN GOD COMES : "So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God " (Romans 10:17). It doesn't say it comes by reading or by having heard, or by praying, but it says faith comes by hearing (present tense). It comes by hearing the Word of God. The Greek says, "Faith Cometh by report and the report by the declaration of God." So faith cometh by hearing the Rhema (Spoken Word) of God. When we hear ourselves speaking, saying what God said, it will produce faith in us more quickly than if we heard someone else saying it. Hearing your own voice speak God's word will excite your heart to action. For example, you don't always obeyed what someone else says, but you do obey your words. They governed you ! The Word says that the gospel did not profit them because it was not mixed with faith. They were hearers only of the Word, not doers. They didn't do what God told them. (John 14:15-23) Promise of Spirit's Indwelling: "if you love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; even the spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither know him: but you know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth mean no more; but you see me. Because I live, you shall live also. It that day you shall know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that love me; and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world ? Jesus answered, and said unto him, if a man love me, he will keep my words; and my father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings; and the word which you hear is not mind, but the father's, who sent me. These things have I spoken unto you, being present with you. But the comforter, who is the Holy Spirit, whom the father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said unto you." There are many people today who say, "Yes, I believe in prayer, and Jesus is my Lord," but they are not obedient to what God has said to do when you pray.
