YOU MUST BE "FULLY PERSUADED " ! He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; now unbelief is caused by what you believe ! But was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he (God) had promised, he (God) was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; but for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him (God the Spirit) that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead." (Romans 4:20-24). The King James Bible. Now the same Scripture in the Amplified Bible: "No unbelief or distrust made him waver (doubtingly question) concerning the promise of God, but he knew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise and glory to God, fully satisfied and assured that God was able and mighty to keep His word and to do what He promised. That is why his faith was credited to him as righteousness (right standing with God). But [the words], it was credited to him, were written not for his sake alone, But [they were written] for our sakes too. [Righteousness, standing acceptable to God] will be granted and credited to us also who believe in (trust in, adhere to, and rely on) God, who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead," God didn't put this in the Bible just so we would know it was imputed to Abraham as righteousness. It is recorded that we might know it can be imputed to us the same way --- through our confession on the basis Of the Word. Do you realize that Abraham didn't have the Bible to read the account of this ? He would have rejoiced to be able to leave what we are reading. Job would have been far ahead if he had been able to read the first chapter Of the Book of Job and find out the devil (Satan) did it and not God. But we sometimes forget that they didn't have the same information we have. And for the most part; many do not study to show themselves approved to God a workman that need not to be a shame rightly dividing the Word. Abraham staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief. He would not consider his body. He wasn't putting faith in his body; like so many other people put faith in their bodies, in their emotions. He was putting faith in God's Word. The first thing God did to Abram to build his faith was to change his name.
