WRITE GOD'S WORD ON YOUR HEART ! Why would God create us with two sets of ears --- one on the outside, and one on the inside ? It's because there's a part of us on the inside that also needs to hear. Jesus said unto them, "Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [two the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you --- and more besides] will be given to you who hear. For to him who has will more be given; and from him who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away [by force]." The amplified Bible. Jesus here is talking a bout knowledge and truth of the Word of God. But this also can referred to the voices that are in the world which has significance. Now, because we have two sets of ears one on the outside, and one on the inside, that also needs to hear. It's our spirit. I believe it's what the Bible calls the heart. The right of Proverbs makes this statement: "Let not mercy and truth forsake the: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart." (Proverbs 3:3) Well, how are you going to write things on the table of your heart ? The psalmist David found how. He broke into that revelation when he said: . . . My tongue is the pen of a ready writer " (Psalm 45:1). Now let's connect these things together. God told Joshua, "Don't let the Word depart out of your mouth. Meditate therein day and night. Observe to do all that is written therein. And then you'll make your way prosperous." (Joshua 1:8). God told the children of Israel, "If you will hearken diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, and observe to do all His commandments, then all these blessings will come upon you and overtake you." (Deuteronomy 28:1-2). The word hearken means "to hear it intelligently and declare." In other words, they were admonished to speak what God said. Remember, . . . Faith in God comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). The spiritual force of faith (which is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen) comes to you and me when we hear the word of God. And in order to hear The Word of God, the Word of God must be spoken. The force of faith will come to you or me more quickly and be more profound if we speak it out of our on mouth. When you do, your voice is picked up by your inner ear, and fed directly into your spirit. Now sadly to say many people have this principal in reverse gear by singing whirly songs quoting Satan and the world that's the way you write things on the table of your heart. You do it by speaking them out of your mouth. I think we have lost this down through the years, in fact when they took the Bible out of school: they knew that if it was taught the way that God had intended: people would know who they are in Christ Jesus. The apostle Paul understood it. The New Testament saints, and even Old Testament saints understood it. But somehow we have missed it. Perhaps maybe it came through seminary teaching or cemetery teaching. We have underestimated the power in words to affect the human spirit or heart. James said it this way: "if any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but the sea with his own heart, this man's religion is vain." (James 1:26). In other words, what he or she believes is in vain, if he or she doesn't bridle their tongue. For his or her tongue will deceive their hearts.
