I do not care, what it looks like, what everybody saying, rest in the Word of God ! Remember the 400 prophets of Baal. Elijah said, "You offer your sacrifice and the god that answers by fire, he will be God." So, this is the picture of the hypocrites; So they cried, begged, and pleaded, and Elijah said, "Why don't you cry a little louder; maybe he is sleep." They begin to cry louder and even cut themselves. Again, these are the heathen that Jesus was talking about When He said, Use not vain repetitions as the heathen do. They just Praying the same thing. If you would understand this and receive this, there was no faith in their prayers ! Just as it is in many case of prayer groups. They pray from morning on into the evening to no avail. Then Elijah had 12 barrels of water poured on his sacrifice and prayed a short prayer just once and down came the fire. There was faith in his prayer; he knew that God would hear him !
