THE UNIT DOES NOT MAKE DECISIONS ! Have you ever heard a heating cooling unit say, "no That, I'm not sending cold air; you need hot air, so I'm lighting up the fire to send you some heat" ? If it did that, we would have to say, "Well, you never know what that unit is going to do. It has a mind of its own." And just like the heating cooling unit, many of you use the same quote; "you never know what God is going to do ! Yes you would if you will get in to the Word of God. But it doesn't work that way. It is consistent. It always produces the very thing you call for, and that is how that heart (spirit) of man is designed. "The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly." (Proverbs 20:27). "Thou shall also decreed a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways (path)." (Job 22:28) (Mark 4:26) tells you the way it works. It is as if a man cast the seed into the ground. That is setting the goal. A seed to a farmer is a goal setter. If you want to know what gold you have set for your garden, just look and see what seed you have planted. You plant the seed, and it works. You go to bed and get up. You don't have to hold to God that it will work. It will work because it is God's law of faith which is designed that way. The substance is in the seed itself. And the Word of God is the sack of seed. Not only is it a sack of seeds, they are incorruptible seeds which liveth and abideth for ever. (1 Peter 1:23). THERMOSTATS HAVE NO SUBSTANCE : suppose someone who had never seen a thermostat or a heating cooling units salt you turn the thermostat to 70° when the room was 90°. When it begins to get cool, he or she would wonder why it was getting so cold. He or she would want to know what you did. "What is that little box on the wall ?" You say, "that is a thermostat." "A thermostat. Where can I get one ?" You see what he or she has in mind. They go down to the hardware store and buys a thermostat. He or she goes out to their cabin and nailed it on the wall. Then they turns it to 70° and sit down and waits. They will have a long wait, because the goal setter does not have the ability to cool his or her cabin. It is only a goal setter. There is no substance in the thermostat to cool a room. Yet it established a goal to be met. There is no substance in your head, yet it establishes a goal to be met. Faith is the substance of things hoped for. Let's say it another way. Faith is the substance of everything needed to accomplish the goal hope for. And you and I can only get faith from hearing and by hearing the Word of God. That cooling unit has electricity connected to it and is available at any time the thermostat makes a demand on it. That heating cooling unit won't produce anything by itself. There must be a goal setter, and you must dial the goal. Hope is a goal setter for you. Always speak your hope. Your goals for your heart are set by speaking those things in faith. Whether the unit feels like it are not, when the thermostat's impulses goals to that unit, it releases the energy that is available, and it immediately starts producing the things you dial into it.
