THE STRIFE OF THE TWO NATURES ! You know that you don't have to practice sin; in fact you don't have to sin at all ! Because the old man is dead, and because if you are truly born again in Christ Jesus is in you who is the hope of glory. The apostle Paul writes to the Christian believers in Rome and says. "For we know that the law is spiritual; but I am carnal, sold under sin." (Romans 7:14). The King James Bible. "Compare (1 Corinthians 3:1-4). "And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as onto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with solid food; for to this time you were not able to bear it, neither yet now are you able. For you are yet carnal; for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are you not carnal, and walk as men ? For while one says, I am of Paul, and another says I am of Apollo's; they said in everyday English, I am Baptist, and I am of apostolic faith, or I am Pentecostal; or you not carnal ? "Carnal" means fleshly and is Paul's word for the Adamic nature and for the born-again believer who "walks," or acts, etc. lives, under the power of it. "Natural" is the apostles characteristic word for the unrenewed man (1 Corinthians 2:14), as "spiritual" designates the renewed man or woman who lives in the Spirit (1 Corinthians 3:1; Galatians 6:1). "Brothers and sisters, if a man or woman be overtaken in a fault, you who are spiritual restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself, least thou also be tempted." Now, no one can say, when he or she is tempted that I am tempted of God, God cannot be tempted with evil. And every man is tempted when they are enticed and drawn away by their own lust, and when sin is finished it is gone to brain death. The apostle Paul goes on in the 15th verse of (Romans 7:15 through 25). "For that which I do I understand not; for what I would that I do not; but what I hate, that I do. If that which I would not, I consent unto the [Mosaic law] that is good. Now, then, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me. (The body) ! For I know that in me (that is in my flesh) dwells no good thing; for to will is present with me, but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that word I do not; but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not come it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me (the body). I find the a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God: here the apostle Paul is telling us that he delights in the law of God which is the law of faith , after the inward man; But I see another law in my member, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my member. Oh wretched man that I am ! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death ? I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord. So, the, with the mind I myself serve the law: here again he calls the law of God the law of faith; but with the flash, the law of sin.
