THE SPIRIT DELIVERS FROM THE OLD NATURE ! "There is, therefore, now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit." (Romans 8:1). Six "laws" are to be differentiated in Romans: (1) the law of Moses, which condemns (Romans 3:19); (2) law as a principle (Romans 3:21); (3) the law of faith, which excludes self-righteousness (Romans 3:27); (4) the law of sin in the members, which is victorious over the law of the Spirit of your mind (Romans 7:21-23-25); (5) the law of the Spirit of your mind, which consents to the law of Moses but cannot do it because of the law of sin in the members (Romans 7:16-23); (6) the law of the Spirit, which is the law of faith: having power to deliver the believer from the law of sin which is in his or her members, and his or her conscience from condemnation by the Mosaic law. Moreover the spirit works in the yielded Christian the very righteousness which Moses law requires (Romans 8:2-4). The last statement ends with "Christ Jesus." The last 10 words were evidently copies from verse. 4, where they properly express the results of "no condemnation," not its cause. Now, walking after the flesh or the dictates of one's body is to walk after the old man, the ADAMIC Nature that every human being has. Now, the second Adam which is Christ Jesus, has the nature and Spirit of God The Father. Notice what the apostle Paul says to the Roman Christians: "There is, therefore, now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit the (now the apostle Paul is not referring to the Holy Spirit, but the re-creating human spirit. "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. Notice the term, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, which is the law of faith that has made you and me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, and that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son, in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh, That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Romans 8:1-4).
