THE SOURCE OF TRIALS AND TEMPTATION ! "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil (Matthew 6:13). Most people believe that the Lord sends the trials, tests, and temptations of life. I wonder why Jesus said to pray that you enter not into temptation if the trials and temptations come from God ? If God knows everything and we know the Word says God has all knowledge, then I wonder why God would have to try and test us to find out what we would do in a certain situation. The Word also says that Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. (Hebrews 12:2). Now since Jesus has authored our faith, God does not need to try. Remember now, your faith is revealed by what you are speaking ! He knows it will work, whether in reverse gear or in forward gear; it is spiritual law. Satan is the one trying our faith. Jesus said, "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." What evil is He talking about ? The evil of trials and temptations. "Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil: neither tempt he any man; But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin; and sin, when it is finished, bringeth for death. Do not err, my beloved brethren." (James 1:14 through 16). We can rise to a new level of faith when we realize that it is the thief that steals, kills, and destroy. It is Jesus who gives life abundantly. When you draw the battle line, you will have 50% of the battle worn. This will set you at liberty in your prayer life as well as the words you speak daily. You can use your faith shield and I may add that Sheild is not the old Roman soldier shield. Remember in (Job 2:1 through 7). "Again there was a day when the sons of God [the angels] came to present themselves before the Lord. And Satan the adversary and the accuser] came also among them to present himself before the Lord. And the Lord said to Satan, from where do you come ? And Satan [the adversary and the accuser] answered the Lord. From going to and fro on the earth and from walking up and down on it. And the Lord said to Satan, Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who [reverently] fears God and abstains from and shuns all evil [because it is wrong ?] And still he holds fast his integrity, although you moved Me against him to destroy him without cause. Then Satan answered the Lord, skin for skin ! Yes, all that a man has will he give for his life. But Put Forth Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse and renounce you to your face. And the Lord said to Satan, Be hold, he is in your head: only spare his life. So Satan went forth from the Lord and smote Job with loathsome and painful sores from the sole of his feet to the crown of his head." If you have read the entire dialogue you will understand well the source of all sickness and disease come from. But you can quench every fiery dart of the devil. But until you determine the cause, you cannot use your faith. You can't believe things will go away if God put it on you. Now let me refresh your memory in this area in (Luke 8:22), Jesus said to the disciples, "Let us go over unto the other side, then he fell asleep in the back of the ship. A storm of wind arose on the lake and ways were leapping into the boat. The disciples begin to say, Master, we perish. Jesus arose and rebuked the wind and the sea. Then he asked them, "where is your faith ?" Evidently it was then what they saw and felt. was that storm sent of God to try their faith ? No. That song was Designed by Saying to Get the Word out of them and it worked very well .(Mark 4:15).
