REASON NUMBER THREE !

REASON NUMBER THREE ! Confession God's Word works for you because it renews your mind to the Word of God. The soul of man did not get bone again ! It still has the old download of the sinful nature. Do you realize that your mind didn't get born again when you were born again ? The apostle Paul said it this way in (Romans 12:2). "And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. . ." Paul is writing to believers, the Roman church. He instructed them to do something about their mind. . . . Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. . . The word transform, means to change your thought life ! By the renewing of your mind: in other words we must take on the thoughts of God ! Confession of God's Word, speaking in agreement with what God said, causes your mind to be renewed so you can think like God thinks. I know that people will often quote this Scripture and say that we cannot have God's thoughts. But observe this Scripture closely. In (Isaiah 55:7), it says "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts, and let them return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God: for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord." Now who is he talking to ? The wicked ! And the unrighteous man ! Are you the wicked ? Are you the unrighteous man ? I don't think so. Confession of God's word, speaking in agreement with what God said, causes your mind to be renewed so you can think like God thinks. This in turn will cause you to talk like God talks. Then eventually, talking like God talk will cause you to walk like God walks --- without fear, without anxiety, in victory instead of defeat. If we don't get our minds renewed, we may find ourselves in a similar situation to Peter when he jumped out of the boat and wasn't ready to walk like Jesus walked. In fact there are many dear people who think because they have joined a church are already to operate in the God kind of faith when they cannot even believe God for a parking spot at the grocery store. Peter got out of the boat before he was ready. He had learned to talk the talk, but not to walk the walk. Circumstances put him down. In other words he took his eyes off of Jesus and began to focus on the wind and the waves. Jesus said, "Come," and there was enough faith in that one word to cause Peter to be able to walk on the water. The problem was that his mind was not renewed. He allowed something (that had nothing to do with what he was doing) to cause him to doubt. Could it be what he saw and heard in the wind and waves ! You know the wind and waves of life comes to us all, but we to must make a decision to believe God's Word.
