PRAYER REPETITION IS NOT CORRESPONDING ACTION ! Sometimes in your life, you have probably been taught that the way to get your prayers answered is to just keep praying the same thing over and over. Finally, you will wire God down or talk him into answering and He will grant your request. There is no scriptural basis for that kind of thinking. Something they have some scriptural basis for it, but if they really divide the Word of God, they will find no such basis at all. We will briefly look at some of the commonly misquoted and misunderstood Scripture this. One is the story of the widow and the unjust (Luke 18:1-6). Almost everyone says the widow just kept coming to the unjust judge, but she only came to him once. It was her boldness of faith that cause him to do what he did for her. The other Scripture is the man who came for bread at midnight. (Luke 11:5-8). The Bible doesn't say that he ever knocked at all, but you hear it misquoted so often that the man just kept on knocking. But he simply asked and stood his ground until he received what he asked. And that is a good illustration of corresponding actions to his faith. If you really had faith, and believe that it was settled when you prayed, you wouldn't ask again. If you asked again for the same thing, that is an indication that you did not believed you receive the first time you prayed. "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his wIll (word), he hears us; and if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desire of him." You know you receive the petitions that you desired. But when you get over into the area of intercession, your intercession is by praying the Word of God. That is something you are going to change things. You are not asking God to do it. You are putting down strongholds. If you ask God to do it, you need asked only once in faith. Then praise God for it until it comes. If you ask in unbelief, it's all like to pray again and say, "Father forgive me for unbelief. I'm going to pray in faith this time." You need to know how to keep your praying and saying in line with the Word of God for it to work !
