KNOW GOD'S WILL ! Someone says, "Oh, if not as what I will, that would be selfish." Read the next verse: "he is mine Father glorified you that much fruit. Here, he is not talking about the fruit of the spirit; He is talking about the fruit of your lips. Do you believe that it is God's will for the Father to be glorified ? Every time you get your prayer answered, it glorifies the Father. Now do you see how you can build wrong thinking by using one verse of Scripture alone ? I remember something I read in one of Kenneth E Hagans books several years ago. He made a statement that I will never forget: "People that think wrong believe wrong; when they believe wrong, they act wrong." That is one of the main problems in what is called church today. Many people have been taught religious ideas. Many people believe wrong because they think wrong. They are right in their hearts but wrong in their heads. Sometimes we pray for things we don't need and are not good for us. I heard of a man in world war two pray for God to move you from one concentration camp to another just a few miles away. He prayed and God answered his prayer. He was very happy, but it was short lived in a few weeks the Allied forces came into the camp he left and liberated all the prisoners. He stayed two more years in the other camp. He uses faith and his prayer was answered, but it prolongs the problem. First of all, you need to determine what is the will of God. In other words what does the word of God have to say about the situation ? When you know God's will, you know that God is going to hear you. The word says if God hears you, you will get what you ask. (1 John 5:14-15) is simply saying that if you get an audience with your Father, you will get your prayer answered. Many times we think the Lord must have heard us because we have goose bumps run up and down our backs are arms. That has nothing to do with it. You may get some feeling (and that's all right), but don't base your faith on feeling. What if you don't get any feelings at all ? That's all right, too. That doesn't change the Word of God. . . "Let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that waiveth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways (James 1:6-8). You receive because you believe God and acted on His Word. Goose bumps will never produce any answer to prayer --- faith will !
