IT IS WRITTEN ! The spirit man cannot live on bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God ! In a passage in (Deuteronomy 8:2-3). "And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth noy live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live." On the mount of temptation (Luke 4) Jesus spoke three words that shook the foundations of Satan's kingdom beyond repair : It Is Written. Jesus stood on a sure foundation and refused to speak anything except what His Father said. My question to you, is what foundation are you standing on ? There are only two foundations and one is a sure foundation and the other is not so sure ! In (Matthew 7:24-27). "Therefore, whosoever heareth these sayings sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon a rock. Here Jesus is not talking about a housing project: he is talking about someone building their life on a sure foundation. "And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, and it fell not; for it was founded upon a rock. And everyone that heareth the sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand (earth). And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, and it fell; and great was the fall of it." This parable of two builders and two foundations, shows us that people can come to Jesus,one will hear the Word and not be a doer of it; and when the storms and the winds,and the rain as well as the floods of life come; they will not be able to stay. Satan is the one that is behind: the storms, the floods, and the winds of adversity. On the other hand, the man or woman that bills that our life on the Word of God will be able to stand against the storms, the winds, and the floods of life. The Scripture says it could not shake it because it was founded upon a rock ! Many people wait to go to what is called church, and when they can't find the answer there they start church hopping are from religion to religion ! You must base your relationship with God upon His Word not on your church ! Notice also When All Else Failed to Move Jesus off the Word, Satan himself began to quote Scripture. The last thing greatest of all deception is to take the Word out of context and he started to make it say something different from the true meaning. This was his (Satan) double-barreled shot, his last ditch stand: "Cast thyself down from hence: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. You will notice the enemy quoted it almost word for word from (Psalms 91:11-12). He drew it out of context to infer that Jesus could not commit suicide even by jumping off the pinnacle of the temple. (Psalms 91:9 through 13) is a beautiful passage of Scripture promising protection from evil, plagues, and accidental destruction; but in no way does it apply to a willful act of self destruction.
