GRACE IS GOD'S WILLINGNESS ! Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed. . . (Romans 4:16). Grace is the person, Jesus Christ ! "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth." Some may say, "That promise was not to us. It was just to Abraham." But the promise is to all the seed him. "It is of faith, that it might be by grace. . ." Grace is the person Jesus Christ, and is God's willingness to use His power which is His Word and ability on your behalf, even those used in me don't deserve it. God is willing, Grace is His willingness. We have always heard that God's grace is unmerited favor. But ask yourself this: if God was in favor of you being saved, but not willing to get personally involved in it, would it have helped you or me ? What if God had said, "If the world can save itself, it's all right with Me, but I'm not going to get involved" ! Just being in favor of it would not have helped us. We would have died and gone to hell. God did not create hell for the spirits of humanity, it was created for the disobedient spirits that chose to follow Satan ! And God does not sin people to hell; they send themselves there because they will not accept God's free gift which is Jesus who is the Messiah. But God did get personally involved. So grace is more than unmerited favor, it is also God's willingness to use His Word of power on your and my behalf. "Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to on the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all." (Romans 4:16). The Scriptures tell us that God preached the gospel of faith first to Abraham. (Galatians 3:8). Even though there was not much teaching on faith in the Old Testament, they operated in faith. They believe what God said --- and it was imputed to them for righteousness. Yet there was not much said about how to obtain faith, or how to use it. God taught the gospel of faith first to Abraham. In (Romans 4:17), Paul the apostle refers to Genesis, chapter 17, where God spoke to Abram. PRECEPT; "As It Is Written, I have made thee a father of many nations), before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and call those things which be not as though they were." (Romans 4:17) Paul gives reference to Genesis 17 where God said, "I have made you the father of many nations." Notice that God didn't say He was going to do it. There was Abraham. He did not have the promised child. The first time God spoke this promise to Abraham, he was "only" 75 years old. But before it came to pass, he was 100 years old. Now you can see why the Scripture say that when there was no hope, Abraham believed in hope. (Romans 4:18). He believe God for 25 years before he saw the promise come to pass. God sometimes reveals things to us that it may take years to bring about. You may get a revelation in your spirit of things God is going to do. For instance, 25 years ago I saw things about two children that are now a part of this ministry: in that it has finally happen right now. These things don't happen the next year: it has taken 20 years. I saw it through the eye of faith even before I met my wife. God gave it to me by revelation. But I didn't go out and tell everybody. We make a mistake when we tell everything we know.
