FEELING OR BELIEVING ! Notice what Abraham did about believing God. It is recorded several times that Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Righteousness means "right--standing." In other words, Abraham was in right standing with God because he decided to believe God's report. How do we believe ? Abram did not believe God's report, so God had to change his name to Abraham. I'm sure Abraham didn't always feel like believing God. But he made a decision to believe Him. "For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law (the Mosaic law), but through the righteousness of faith. (Romans 4:13). The promise was not through the law, and there are many people trying to operate under the Mosaic law. But the promise is through the righteousness of faith. What was this promise ? That Abraham and his seed should be heir of the world. God's promise to Abraham was that he would be heir of the world--- the whole world. "And if you be Christ's, then are you Abraham seed, and heirs according to the promise." (Galatians 3:29). Christ is not Jesus last name: Christ simply means The Anointed One And the Anointed. The promise was to Abraham and his seed, but it was not through the Law, through the 319 Commandments. But through the righteousness which is of faith. Notice this promise was to come to pass through the righteousness of faith. Let's look at (Romans 10:6). Look closely at what the apostle Paul says about the righteousness which is of faith. First, Paul is telling us what the righteousness which is of faith would not say. "But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven ? (That is, to bring Christ down from above:) Or, who shall descend into the deep ? (That is, to bring up Christ's again from the dead.) But what saith it ? . . . (What Says the Word) (Romans 10: 6-8). Sometimes it helps to find out what something is not in order to understand what it is. Paul said the righteousness which is of faith would not say, "who is going to reverse the process of death ? Who is going to bring Jesus back from heaven so that He may come to us and healed us and do things for us again as He did in the days when He walked the earth ?" The righteousness which is of faith would not say it that way. I know you are thinking, "Well, I wouldn't say that." But if you have said, "Lord, come down and touch me," then that is what you have said. (Hebrews 10:12-13). Tells us that Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father until His enemies are made His footstool. Jesus is there in his physical body. And He is not coming back until His enemies are made His footstool. But He has sent His Word to heal you. And I suggest, that you get your mouth to lined up and begin to say what he said. "He sent his word, and healed them, and deliver them from their destructions." (Psalms 107:20). Then the Scriptures reveal more insight in the book of John. "In The Beginning Was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. . . All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. . . And the Word was made flesh (took upon itself flesh), And dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." (John 1:1- 3- 14). It's with the heart man we believe, is not with your head you believe (Romans 10:10). "For with the heart man believeth (spirit) unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Unto healing, unto soundness, unto deliverance, unto preservation.
