FEAR ALSO COMES BY HEARING ! Fear comes by hearing the words of the devil as well as the world. So if hearing God's word produces faith, hearing the devils are Satan's words as well as the world produces fear. Just as faith is the substance of things desired, fear is the substance of things not desired. That is why you ought to resist the spirit of fear like you resist the devil. Now you can understand why Job said, . . . "The thing which I greatly feared is come unto me, and that which I was afraid of is come upon me (Job 3:25). When you get out there in the business world or in the ministry, you must come up against fear, for Satan uses the fear tactic. How do you overcome the spirit of fear ? By speaking the Word of God. Remember what Jesus said in reply to the Satan's temptation to turn stones into bread ? . . . It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." (Matthew 4: 4). If you live by every word of God, then it's as true that you would die by the words of Satan or even the world. Because the word of God produces life-giving faith, the words of the enemy produces death giving fear. Think about that for a moment ! When you are speaking words contrary to the word of God, you are producing fear. That's why James said, "if anyone thinks himself to be religious (piously observant of the external do it is of his faith) and does not bridle his tongue but deludes his own heart, this person's religious service is worthless [futile, barren]." External religious worship [religion as it is expressed in outward acts] that is pure and unblemished in the sight of God the father is this: to visit and help and care for the orphans and widows in their affliction and need, and to keep oneself unspotted and uncontaminated from the world." (James 1: 26-27). The amplified Bible. Many times people don't realize they are quoting Satan and the world. But you quote the devil when you speak things that are opposite to the word of God. Whether you realize it or not, those are the two sources. When I say the world, it's not the resources it's only two; God and Satan. When we speak contrary to the word of God, we are also releasing spiritual forces out of our mouth. Those forces will get in our spirits (hearts). Now, when God said, "Keith my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them up on thy fingers, write them (God's commandments) upon the table of thine heart." (Proverbs 7:2-3). He wasn't suggesting that you keep the 10 Commandments, and live; and his laws as the apple of thine eye. No he's telling us to keep his saying, and live; and his law as the apple of thine eye. What law ? The law of faith ! Bind them up on thy fingers, write them (God saying upon the table of thine heart. David said, "My heart (spirit) is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the opinion of a ready writer." (Psalm 145:1). That's the way it works, so put your pen to work for you not against you !
