FAITH IN GOD AND CORRESPONDING ACTION ! "What do it profit, my brethren, though a man say he has faith, and have not works ? Can faith save him ? In other words, can that type of faith save him ? If a brother or sister is naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be you warmed and filled; notwithstanding you gave them not those things which are needful to the body; what does it profit ? Even so faith, if it had not works, is dead, being alone." (James 2: 14-17). The God kind of faith requires actions. But don't fall into the trap of half-truths concerning faith and actions. What James said in verse 17 is a true statement. But be careful that you don't take a truth and make it the truth. For instance, this is a truth concerning the context of the Scripture. But if you take this out of context and carry it over into a different setting, it may not be true concerning that situation. In the above passage, the word works is sometimes spoken of as "corresponding actions" --- in other words, acting out your faith. Certainly you should have some action to your faith. The problem comes when you and beyond your faith, taking action on the manifestation you have received. I do believe that you should confess what the Word of God says concerning your finances, concerning your health, or concerning your family. But that does not mean that you will act in every way as if you had thousands of dollars in your bank account. And it certainly does not mean that you would act in every way as if you had perfect health or a perfect family. Some have done that. They said, "I'm confessing abundance. I believe God has met my needs, so I will write checks for all my bills and God will have to put the money in the bank before the checks get to the bank." That is not the God kind of faith. That is foolishness. Some called these checks "faith checks." But they are not faith checks. They are hot checks. That is illegal. How in the world could God bless something that is illegal ? He couldn't, and He won't. We must stay with the written Bible principles. Likewise, many people are believing God for good health. But they are looking at what is temporal and saying all the wrong things concerning their health. In other words, they are not saying what God has said about their healing. Or they are not saying what God has said concerning family !
