EXCITED FAITH IS OFTEN DISAPPOINTED FAITH ! As in Peter's case, excited faith will sometimes cause others to do things just because you did. They want to act on your level of faith instead of their own level of development. For example, several years ago I heard of a minister that was speaking in a certain what is called church and told of how God supernaturally supplied fuel for his airplane. He was lost out in the Northwest part of the country and had flown for five hours and 25 minutes before landing. The airplane only health enough you for four hours and 20 minutes. When he landed, he still had 17 gallons of fuel in the tanks. A man in what is called church heard his testimony and got excited. After the service that night, he and his wife got in their car and started home. His Wife Said, "We'd better get some gas in the car." "No," he said, "God put gas in Brother So and so airplane, He'll put gas in my car." He drove 5 miles out in the country and ran out of gas and call the pastor. The pastor had to go get him some gas. These are some of the things that people do when excited faith. I have learned when I give that testimony to tell them, "now remember, this was an emergency. God is not going to put gas in your car just because it's empty. If it were an emergency situation, and you were developed to that level of faith, it makes a difference. But God is not in the business of supplying gasoline for everyone. This is an example of excited faith. That man did that because the preacher left something unsaid that should have been said, and he read between the lines what he thought he meant. Some come along with their religious ideas, and think that these things are supposed to work for them to. The kingdom principles will work if you would be obedient to work it the way God says in His Word to work it.
