God told Joshua: "This book of the law shall not depart out of my mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shall have good success." That's why it is important that you be careful what you speak. You will notice that Abraham and God calls things that were not as though they were. It did not say they were calling things that were as though they were not. Be sure you understand this, for there is a great difference between these two statements. Abraham did not go around saying, "I'm not old, I'm not old. I'm not old." If he had said that, he would have been lying. Somehow never understood the difference between a lie and a confession. A confession is based upon the Word of God. Let me state that another way, a confession of your faith should be based upon the Word of God. It may seem to the world that is a lie; but if God said it, how could you lie by saying what God said ? Remember what Jesus said, "Also I say unto you, whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of Man also confess before the angels of God; but he that denied me before men be denied before the angels of God." Many have the idea that Jesus is talking about confessing his name before men. No, he is talking about confessing the Word of God before men; because the angels also know what the books say, and that's how they get their assignment by your confession: let me say that another way; the angels know what is written: and by you saying what God said gives them their assignment to bring it to pass.
