DON'T PRAY THE PROBLEM ! I remember being in a service one night in a certain church, and a lady stood up and said, "I want you all to pray for my husband; he is getting worse. He won't go to church, and I have been praying for him every day for 25 years. He just keeps getting meaner." The Spirit of God spoke up on the inside of me and said, "she has been holding fast to the problem all these years." If she had prayed in faith, she wouldn't have prayed all those other 24 years. She Would Have Praise Me And Thanked Me that my power was working in her behalf, and her husband would have been saved many years ago. But she has bound Me from the situation by the words of her mouth." Now there is no doubt in my mind that every time she prayed for her husband, she said, "my husband is getting meaner or Lord, "my husband won't go to church with me". "He is not getting any better." And the Word of God teaches us that you shall have what you say (Mark 11:23). Now you can see the mistake she was making. I pretty much can say I was guilty of the same thing in my praying, asking people to pray for me when they don't even know how to pray; many people pray the model prayer that Jesus taught his disciples to pray under the old covenant. When I learned what accurate prayer was I started getting my prayers answered. First, I would feed on the promise of God that fits my situation at that time, secondly I just simply told God what he said; thirdly then I rested upon the word of God, and begin to thank him for the answer. Jesus said, "Whatsoever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them." (Mark 11:24). She didn't design for her husband to get meaner. She didn't design for him to stay at home. Why was she praying that way ? She was deceived by Satan and held in bondage by the words of her own mouth. In fact, she was holding her husband in bondage also. She had taken him out of God's hands and He could work on her behalf, because in prayer she was saying the things she did not desire. She was holding fast to the problem. It is true that the Scripture says in (Hebrews 10:22-23) "Let us all come forward and draw near with true [honest and sincere] hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith [by that learning of the entire human personality on God in absolute truth and confidence in his power (Word), wisdom, and goodness ], having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty [evil] conscience and our bodies cleans with pure water. So let us seize and hold fast and retain without wavering the hope we cherish and confess and our acknowledgment of it, for He who promised is reliable [sure] and faithful to His word." The amplified Bible. The King James version, says that you are to hold fast to your profession and your profession is your confession which is your possession !
