DON'T BE DECEIVED ! Several years ago a man said, "Oh, I wouldn't ask you to pray for me." I said, "why not ? He said, "I'm taking medicine." I answered, "What is the medication supposed to do ?" He said, "The doctor said the medicine would help me." I said, "The Bible says prayer will help you; the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up. (James 5:15). It seems to me, if we do both, you may get well twice as fast." This is one of the things the devil has used. He uses these thoughts to put condemnation on those who are sick. The devil would like for you to go one way or the other, but not both. For he has a better chance if you are limited to one or the other. He will say, "if you are going to believe God, you can't take medicine," or, "if you take medicine, you can't believe God." But God wants you well, even if it takes both methods --- or ten more ! And the enemy of all humanity would like for you or anyone that is sick to not believe what God has said a bout sickness. Too many people are like Peter. They get out of the boat before they have water walking faith. They may take it a while, but soon they began to sink, because they haven't learned to keep their eyes off circumstances or situations. The Bible says, "Fo we walk by faith and not by sight." (2 Corinthians 5:7). When fear comes, that's proof enough that they are not walking by faith. When they called and asked, "Why isn't it working ?" I would tell them, who told you it wasn't working. Some would say, because they had a thought or it looked it like it was getting worse. They are not fully persuaded, that the Word of God is true ! Many precious people are so highly developed in the five sense realm and are trying to operate in spiritual law, and it will not work. Your natural mind, will fight you on spiritual things; Why, "because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." And the law that the Bible is referring to in the context is the law of faith. "To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then ? It is excluded. By what law ? Of works ? Nay or No: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law." (Romans 4:26 through 28).
