CONFICT OF THE BORN-AGAN SPIRIT WITH THE OLD NATURE ! (Romans 8: 4). "So that the righteous and just requirements of the Law might be fully met in us who live and move not in the ways of the flesh but in the ways of the Spirit [our lives governed not by the standards and according to the dictates of the flesh, but controlled by the Holy Spirit]." The amplified Bible. You and I must live yielded lives as living sacrifices unto God daily ! There is a reason why the church that is the body of Christ looks like and sounds like the world. You can hardly tell the difference. People are living like they are not saved and the world is trying to look like they are saved ! But notice what the apostle Paul says to the church in Rome: "For they that are after the flesh; (the old nature of Adam) do mind the things of the flesh; now this portion of the Scriptures is from the King James Bible. Reading the same portion from the amplified Bible, say. "For those who are according to the flesh: the old nature of Adam, and all controlled by its on holy desire set there minds on and pursue those things which gratify the flesh, (the old nature of Adam). You see you can be a part of an religious institution and never be born again. In fact many people that have joined church think that they are saved ! In fact many who have confessed Jesus Christ's as Savior, have not made Him Lord. Notice, the rest of verse 5 in Romans 8:5). "But those who are according to the Spirit (the new birth) and controlled by the desires of the spirit set their minds on and seek those things which gratify the Holy Spirit . I believe that the apostle Paul is talking about the born again spirit of man, because he goes on and say. "Now the mind of the flesh (the old Adam nature) (which is sense and reason) which is the makeup of the soul of man his mind ! Without the Holy Spirit] is death [there that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the born again spirit: it reads but the mind of the Holy Spirit is life and [soul peace [both now and forever]. That is because the mind of the flesh [with its carnal (fleshly) thoughts and purposes] is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God's Law; indeed it cannot. Here again the apostle Paul is referring to the law of faith. (Hebrews 11:6). "But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out]." The amplified Bible. Did not Jesus say, seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these other things will be added unto you !
