CALLING THE LEPERS CLEAN ! Jesus called things that were not, in all of His ministry. He taught us to do the same. In Luke 17, we find the story of the 10 lepers who cried out for Jesus to have mercy on them. "And as he entered into a certain village, there met him 10 men that were lepers, which stood a far off: and they lifted up their voice, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy and us. And when he saw them, he said unto them, go show yourselves unto the priest. It came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed." (Luke 17:12-14). Notice that Jesus said, "Go show yourselves to the priest." What Was He talking about ? Didn't He know they were lepers ? Yes, Jesus knew they were lepers. But He was calling them cleans. The only scriptural reason they would show themselves to the priest under the old covenant was if they were cleansed. So Jesus was calling them clean. They could have said, "But Jesus, we don't believe in this calling things that are not. We don't believe in confessing something that is not already true. We just believe in saying it like it is. We call things as they are." And they said that, they probably hear him then lepers for the rest of their lives. But the Bible says, . . . As they went, they were cleansed. They acted on the words of Jesus, not many believers do the same today; they want to see if something happens first, and then act upon the Words of Jesus, as He was calling things that were not. As they went, they were calling things that were not, by their actions. Every time Jesus told a crippled toothache of his bed and walked he was calling things that were not, as though they were. (John 5:8; Luke 5:24). We know a couple can't walk, and Jesus knew a crippled couldn't walk and carry his or her bed. Many people bless their darling heads and their stupid hearts spend thousands of dollars on so-called cures and still having got healed. There is nothing wrong with medical science, Elise they know that it is God's will to heal the body and the spirit as well as the soul. The problem is people do not take God at His Word. Jesus called them healed when they were bedfast. The individuals called themselves healed by their actions. Again in (Luke 6:10), Jesus tells a man with a withered hand to stretch forth his hand. A weathered hand can't be stretch forth unless it is healed. When the man acted on Jesus words, he was calling his hand normal. This was God's method then and now, and Jesus used it. And we should be using it to.
