WHAT IS FAITH !

WHAT IS FAITH ?: (Hebrews 11:1) a key verse in the study of faith is the familiar one found in Hebrew, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Mofftt's translation of this verse reads, "Now faith mean that we are confident of what we hold for, convinced of what we do not see." Another translation says, "Faith is giving substance to things hoped for." Still another translation reads, "Faith is the warranty deed, the thing for which we have finally hold is at last ours." Here God is telling us what faith is. There are a number of kinds of faith. Everyone, saved and unsaved alike, has a natural, humanistic faith. The above Scripture, however, is talking about a supernatural God kind of faith--- a faith that believes with the heart rather than believing what our physical five senses may tell us. Faith, in other words, is grasping the realities of hope and bringing them into the realm of reality. And the God kind of faith grows out of the Word of God. The apostle Paul said it this way, in (Romans 10:8). "But what does it [The Word] says ? The Word God's message in Christ is near you, on your lips and in your heart; that is, The Word the message, the bases and object of faith which we preach." In other words, God's Word is first on your lips and then in your heart. This is the object and bases of your faith ! Our text describes faith as "the evidence of things not seen." For example, you hope for finances to meet the obligations you have to pay. The God kind of faith gives the assurance that you will have the money when you need it. You hold for physical strength to do the work that you must do. The God kind of faith says, "The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid ?" (Psalm 27:1). The God kind of faith will say about itself everything that the Word says, for faith in God is simply faith in His Word. I learned an important lesson shortly after I was released from prison, even though I had a CDL driver license no one would hire. So I said I was going to create my own job. And that I did by creating B&J lawn service and this was in 1999, the woman I met a marriage help me purchase a 1999 Ford F1 50. Then I went to the pawnshop and begin to buy use equipment. That's when I discovered that (Mark 11:23 and 24) became a reality in my life. Yes, a man can have what he say if he believes and doubts not in his heart those things which he is saying. It has been 21 years and the same principle of the God kind of faith is still working. You see, if I had gone according to my feelings, I wouldn't have gotten out on what I said. I acted on the word because I knew what the God kind of faith is. I never receive until I begin to act upon what I believe. Many people want to receive and then believe they've got it. It doesn't work that way, though. You have to believe first, believe what ? Those things that you're saying, and then you will receive. However, this God kind of faith doesn't come overnight, you have to develop your relationship with the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. These Three Are One !
