AUTHORITY AND ABILITY : God is not in the business of doing many of things we pray for Him to do. We try to do what God is supposed to do and ask Him to do what we are supposed to do. We say, "Lord, take all my cares." But He is not going to do that. He said we are to cast all my cares on Him because He cares for us. (1 Peter 5:7. The King James Bible. The amplified Bible says, "Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you in the affectionately and cares about you watchfully". (Psalms 55:22) we have been doing all the carrying and worrying. We pray for Him to take it from us, but He can't do that. If you cast them up on Him, He will do the carrying. "The book to the Philippian believers (Philippians 4:6--8), "Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God's peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ [the anointing and the anointed one], and soul fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly life ever saw that it was, that piece] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." The amplified Bible. For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is time and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them."] We have been wanting God to give us peace while we think of all the bad things. He can't do that. It is against His Word. Just as a jeweler can't fix your watch until he has it in his possession, neither can God work out your problem until you give it to Him. Or cast it onto Him, and leave it there. Once you have prayed, don't take it up again. Just thank Him for the answer. I remember as I was complaining about a problem with my truck, a certain sound manager said to me, "I can't fix it while you are driving it down the highway at 60 miles an hour." So many people want to keep trying to work out their problems by medication or alcohol and drug even cigarettes by their own rules. They have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge (Romans 10:2). When your will is in place, God's will is not ! In other words, God's Word is his will for humanity ! The apostle Paul says it is the power of God unto, deliverance, unto, salvation, unto, soundness, unto, preservation, unto healing. It is your responsibility to get the Word of God in your mouth then it gets in your heart ! (Romans 10:8).
