THE ABILITY OF GOD---RULES THAT GOVERN: Prayer is designed to work for you, not against you. The Word of God will designed to work for you, in fact for all humanity; but when you cross up the rules, it is like trying to play baseball with football rules. It does not work. Sometimes we used the wrong rules in prayer. There are different kinds of prayer and there are different rules for each kind. That is the prayer of dedication, the prayer of thanksgiving and praise, the prayer of intercession, and the prayer of petition. In this lesson I will be talking about the prayer of petition. Don't get the rules for the prayer of dedication and worship mixed up with the prayer of petition. When you do, you get the thing shorted out and it won't work. Rightly divide the Word Of Truth; search out these rules and apply them correctly. Then your prayers will move heaven and earth in your behalf. In fact, we read in the Word of God in (Philippians 2:9--10), (John 16:23), and (Mark 16:17--18) that Jesus has been highly exalted and has been given a name above every name, And He has given that name to us to control the forces of evil. In (Revelation 19:13) it is written, "And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood; and his name is called The Word of God." The authority of this earth has been given to mankind. We have authority to petition God Bob Pratt and move the forces of heaven in our behalf. We have authority in prayer by the words of our mouths to bind and loose evil forces--- the powers of darkness--- and render them harmless and ineffective against us. We do not need more power; However, We Do Need More Knowledge of the Word of God. And we just need to apply the spiritual laws that God has given us. Jesus said, "what things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that you received them, and you shall have them (Mark 11:24). Didn't say a thing about God's will, did He ? This is one verse of Scripture that would contradict the interpretation of (1 John 5:14), "if it is God's will." GOD'S WORD ABIDING IN US: Now let's go to another witness. Jesus said, "If you abide [continue] in me, and my words abide [continues] in you, ask what God Will ? No ! Ask what you Will, and it shall be done unto you (John 15:7) This is conditional. Notice, the condition, The Word of God has to be in us: by way of our mouth and then it gets into the heart or spirit of man (Romans 10:8--9--10) it doesn't say a thing about God's will. Ask what you will. But if the word That of God abides in you, then you are going to frame your prayer accurately according to the Word of God and you are not going to pray for things that you know are not the will of God. It would be foolish if you had a financial need to pray that someone would lose their billfold all purse so you could find it and get their money. That would be evil !
