REDEEMED FROM THE CURSE OF FEAR ! First, we must come to the absolute, rock solid spiritual conviction that through the power of the Blood of Jesus, Jesus has delivered us once and for all from the bondage of fear. We may not feel like we've been delivered from it, but that doesn't matter; because this walk of faith is not a walk of feelings. The Bible is clear on the issue. Describing what Jesus did for us through His death, burial and resurrection, it says: "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and delivered them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage (Hebrews 2:14-15). Every fear that exists is, in one way or another, based on the fear of death, and according to THE WORD of God, we've been delivered from it. Jesus stripped it of its power over us by paying the price for sin, taking on Himself its deadly offspring, the curse. He completely paralyzed and put out of commission Satan, who has many names, who is the author of fear. By triumphing over death and becoming Our Champion and Lord, Jesus freed us once and for all from every kind of fear as well as every kind of curse. (Galatians 3: 13) says it this way: "Christ (The Anointed One) has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree. (Cross)" Many believers don't realize it, perhaps, because they are still living by their five senses ! But fear is part of the curse. (Deuteronomy 28 says so. Warning the children of Israel about what would happen to them if they disconnected from THE BLESSING and opened the door to the curse, it says: "Among those nations you will find no repose, no resting place for the sole of your foot. There THE LORD will give you an anxious mind, eyes weary with longing, and a despairing heart. You will live in constant suspense, filled with dread both night and day, never sure of your life. in the morning you will say, "If only it were evening!" and in the evening, "If only it were morning!"-- because of the terror that will fill your hearts and the sights that your eyes will see. (versus 65-67). That's a perfect description of torment at its worst; and thank God ! at Calvary, Jesus bore it for us. As (Isaiah 53:5) said, "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed" The center column reference is the Ethiopian Bible.
