REASON NUMBER SIX : Confession of God's Word works for you because it sets the law of faith in motion. Faith is a law of the New Testament, and it's of God. The apostle Paul makes this clear in (Romans 3:27). Where is boasting then ? It is excluded. By what law ? The Mosaic law of works ! Nay: [No] but by the law of faith." Faith is a law. This is the same loud that Paul the apostle is referring to in (Romans 8:7), ... The carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God..." Enmity means "irreconcilable hostility." You cannot believe with your head what you can believe with your heart. You cannot believe with your head that speaking to a mountain of problem areas in your life will cause it to move. You just can't say mountain get out the way, and don't believe that it will move. You have to base your speaking to your mountain of problems the promises of God's Word. This kind of faith will not work in your head. It only works in the heart or which is the spirit of mankind. But if you renew your mind, you can reach a point where your head won't find you over it. "We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak. "(2 Corinthians 4:13) how did Jesus Christ defeated the devil each time he was tempted. "It is written, it is written, it is written. That's the way it works. What you believe, you speak. What you speak, you will believe stronger every time you speak it. This process causes faith to come. You are putting it in motion--- the spirit of faith as well as the law of faith. (Mark 11:23) and (Luke 17:6). Falls in line with this same thought. "For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith." "And the Lord said, if you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you might say unto this sycamine tree, be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you." All of these things explain how the law faith is set in motion. It is not going to happen just because you say it. However, saying it is involved in setting it in motion. That's why we should speak God's Word, even when outward circumstances says that it isn't true in the natural. Some things are true in the Word of God that should be true in our lives. And as far as God is concerned, it is that way. He has already said all He is going to say about it. It's a matter of us setting the law of faith in motion. People sometimes say, "Well, where do I start ? You start where you are, and for some of you you start where you left off. Don't ever try to start on someone else's level. Many get into trouble with the faith and confession message at the very start. They are trying to start out beyond their level of development. That is like trying to build third story on a vacant lot. You must start where you are. You may want to start by confessing that you will get a parking place when you go downtown. Develop your faith in the small things. Don't try to confess $1 million when your not develop to that level. Work it in the small things first. You will finally get to where you can believe God for bigger things. By experience you learn what makes it work, and also what will short out. There are some who confess God's Word out of fear. It sounds good. They said the right things. But they are doing it out of fear. And it will not work, there are no shortcuts. Your confession must be done in faith. Not in fear ! That's why you must continue to do it. You will speak some things that you want believe when you first say them even though you know it is right because it is in the Bible. You know the Bible is true, but it's not true in your life. If you speak it, confess it, proclaim it long enough, you will believe it. For what you continue to speak, you will eventually believe.
