OBEY YOUR GENERAL ORDERS,NO MATTER WHAT Jesus command of love is nonnegotiable. You might compare it to the general orders of the Army. The same principles hold true for believers. We are no longer civilians. Where in the Army of The Lord. The Bible says we're to "endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ." We have been given direct orders From Our Commander and Chief. He knows what's best for us and for the entire Body of Christ which is the Church. He created us to walk in the supernatural light Of the Gospel. He knows who we are and what we are in Him. He knows where our joy will be maximized, and He has directed us to that place by giving us one set of general orders: Love The Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength; and love your neighbor as yourself. "Brother Lewis," someone might say, "I love Jesus, and I know those are His orders, but I don't keep them all the time." Then, you don't really love Him. "What ? I know I do ! No, you don't. Jesus said so, Himself: "He that hath my commandments and keeps them, he it is that loveth me." That's not hard to understand, is it ? It's simple and direct. Religion and its ideas of how to obey God has blinded many. Loving the Lord means keeping the commandment of love. He made it a commandment because He knew we wouldn't keep it if He just offered it as a suggestion. So, He gave us no alternative or excuse for violating the law of love. I'm not saying we never have a reason to violate it. We do. But we must either fix the reasons or ignore them because Jesus said if you love Him, we're going to obey the command. That means when our feelings get hurt and we're tempted to step out of love, we must tell our flesh what to do. We have two tell our minds what to think and our mouth what to say. Otherwise, we'll end up giving someone a "piece of our unrenewed mind." We'll give up our place in the overflowing BLESSING of God because we can't operate in strife or fear and in THE BLESSING at the same time. That in it self is a reason enough to run from strife as well as fear as if it were a snake crawling into our household. We are to kill strife and fear before it ever gets started because it isn't worth it, my friend. THE BLESSING is too high of a price to pay. And it has been paid by the blood of Jesus.
