MIX GOD'S WORD WITH YOUR WORDS: In (Mark 11:24) Jesus tells us to believe that we receive our desires when we pray. One translation says, "Believe that you receive them." If I do that when I pray, I must mix God's word, which is faith with my words: Father, I Thank You for You have heard me and I believe that I have received. Someone says, "Why don't you just believe it and not say anything ?" Here are five reasons: (1). He shall have whatsoever he saith (Mark 11:23). (2). Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh (Matthew 12:34). (3). We also believe, and therefore speak (2 Corinthians 4:13). (4). So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). (5). For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also (James 2:26). Your words are the spirit of your faith. FAITH COMETH: "So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God" (Romans 10:17). It doesn't say it comes by reading or by having heard, but it says faith comes by hearing (present tense). It comes by hearing the Word of God. The Greek says, "faith cometh by report and the report by the declaration of God." So faith comes by hearing the RHEMA (spoken word) of God. When we hear ourselves speaking, saying what God said, it will produce faith in us more quickly than if we heard someone else saying it. Hearing your own voice speak God's Word will excite your heart to action. For example, you don't always obey what someone else says, because many times you think that person do not know what they are talking about. But you do obey your words. They govern you ! Point and case Israel did not hearken or listen to God's voice, instead they listen to their own reasoning. The Word says that the gospel did not profit them because it was not mixed with faith. They were hearers only of the Word, not doers. They didn't do what God told them. There are many people today who say, "Yes, I believe in prayer," but they are not obedient to what God has said to do when you pray. HOLD FAST YOUR CONFESSION: "Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession, or our confession (Hebrews 4:14). In other words, God simply wants you and I to agree and say what He said ! Here is where so many have missed it. Most people hold fast to the problem. They hold fast to the sickness. We are to hold fast to our confession of faith. Our confession should agree with the Word of God. If it doesn't, it is a confession of unbelief because it agrees with the world and the devil. The confession of your mouth, even after you have prayed correctly, will determine whether or not you receive. If you have prayed and asked God for something, and then say, "I just don't know what I am going to do; it's just not working out," you blew it ! You canceled your prayer. That prayer will not work for you. Hold fast to the confession of your faith.
