JESUS SENDS THE TWELVE TO PREACH THE KINGDOM OF GOD ! (Luke 9:1 through 9). "THEN he called his 12 disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all [demons], and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. Jesus when he was here in the earth, he preached and demonstrated the power of the kingdom of God. That's why the people were drawn to Him, he showed them what the kingdom of God is like: He did not per say preach the salvation message ! Now, "And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither [staff], nor [bag], neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece. And whatever house ye enter into, there abide, and from there depart. Jesus wanted his disciples to totally dependent upon Him for everything. As it is today He wants every believer and every born again person to totally depend upon Him for everything they want and need. The problem is many of the Christian body do not know what they want. All they keep doing is telling God what they need. But God wants to know what do you want; because when you get your wants, all of your needs are met ! "And who ever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them. And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching The Gospel and healing everywhere. Now Herod, the tetrarch, heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed, because that it was said by some, that John was raised from the dead; and by some, that Elijah had appeared; and by others, that one of the old prophets was risen again. And Herod said, John have I beheaded; but who is this, of whom I hear such things ? And he desired to said him. And the apostles, when they were returned, told him (Jesus) all that they had done. And he told them, and went outside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. And the people, when they knew it, followed him; and he received them, and spoke unto them of the kingdom of God, and haled them that had need of healing. Again we can see from the disciples preaching the kingdom of God and healing, that they were demonstrating the power of the kingdom of God. This is why people wanted to associate themselves to Jesus because he came demonstrating the power of the kingdom of God. "Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe the gospel." (Mark 1:14-15).
