HEAD FAITH vs THE GOD KIND OF FAITH: We may say we know God's Word is good. But we will never really know until we have acted on it and have reaped its results. The God kind of faith is giving substance to things hoped for. I went to work, I acted on God's Word. I hope for the work and created my own job, and as I acted on God's word, my faith gave substance to that which I hope for. Hope says, "I'll have it sometime." The God kind of faith says, I have it now." John Wesley once said that the devil has given the Church a substitute for this God kind of faith; one that looks and sounds so much like the God kind of faith that few people can't tell the difference. The substitute he called and I called "mental assent." Many People Read God's Word and agreed that it is true, but they are agreeing only with their minds. And because their minds have not been renewed, that is not what gets the job done. It is heart faith that receives from God. (Mark 11:23--24) "Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea ! And does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believing [trust and be confident] that it is granted to you, and you will get it." The amplified Bible. How can we tell whether we have this heart faith or God kind of faith: or we are just mentally of agreeing ? Mental assent says, "I know God's Word is truth. I know God has promised healing, or deliverance, but for some reason I can't get it; I can't understand it." However, real God kind of faith in God's word says, "if That God's word says it's so, then it's so. It is mine. I have it now. One of the five senses, will tell you you don't have it because you can't see it. I have it even though I can't see." I've heard people say, "but the things I have been praying about hasn't come to pass yet." If you already had it, you wouldn't have to believe it, for then you would know it. You have to take that step of believing The Word of God in order to come to the place of knowing. Too many people want to know it from the standard port of its coming to pass, and then believing it. We Must Believe It Because God's Word says it is ours. Then it materializes. Notice from (Mark 11:24) that the receiving comes after the believing: "what things soever you desire when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them." Jesus was simply saying, "You've God to believe you have it before you can receive it." I never have been able to receive anything for myself without first believing I have it. Every one of the five senses in my body cries out, "you don't have it." I simply stand firm on what God's Word says about what I am believing God for, holding fast to the confession of the God kind of faith continuing to claim that I am what God says I am and I have what God says I have. Results are then forthcoming. But if I were to sit around, groaning and sighing, griping, and complaining, whining until every symptom or every circumstance was gone and my feelings corresponded with my God kind of faith before I believe, I never would get very far, because the God kind of faith is the evidence of things not seen."
