Exceedingly Growing Faith : (Romans 12:1- 2) "I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you and you of all the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies and [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy [devoted, consecrated] and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable [rational, intelligent] service and spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world [this age], fashion after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed [changed] by the [entire] renewing of your mind [by its new ideas and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]." The amplified Bible. This is something that you we do, not something God does. God gives eternal life. He offers us His Spirit. But God doesn't do anything with our bodies or our minds. If anything is done with your body or your mind, you will have to do it. The Word says for you to present your body unto God. It tells us to renew our minds. Nobody else can do it for you. The word said that you are to be "transformed by the renewing of your mind." And your mind is renewed through the Word of God. Not with your television set, nor with your entertainment system. Not even any programming that is partook of in church. Man is a spirit. He is in the same class with God--- made in the image and likeness of God. Some would have you believe that man is just an animal. If that were true, it would be no more wrong to kill a man and eat him then it will be to kill a cow and eat it. Man has a physical body in which he or she now lives, but they are not animals. He is much more than just mind and body. He is spirit, soul, and body. He is a spirit; he has a soul; he lives in a body. It is the fact that man is a spirit that makes him different from animals. Some false coats bring out that in Genesis, in the Hebrew language, the word of God speaks of the souls of animals. They say that since animals have souls as we do, then when we die we are dead as a dog is dead. And they interpret all scriptures from the natural view. And it is true that animals have souls-- but they are not spirits ! In Christendom we have not define these terms as we should have. There is nothing in animals which is like God. God took something of Himself and put it into man, like he did with the first man Adam and the first woman in however, they transgressed the command of God and so they died spiritually disconnected from God. And so the second Adam which is Jesus Christ came to restore man back into right relations with God. Therefore I tell you you must be born again. He [God] made the body of man out of the dust of the earth; but He breathed into man's nostrils the breath of life. The word translated "breath" in the passage concerning man's creation, is the Hebrew word "ruach". Ruach means "breath" or "spirit," and it is translated "Holy Spirit" many times in the Old Testament. God is Spirit, so He took something of Himself, which is spirit, and put it into man. When he did, man became a living soul. He wasn't alive until then. But he became a living soul-- he became conscious of himself. Animals have souls, for the soul possesses intellectual and emotional quantities, and animals have these. However, in animals, it is all physical, and when the physical is dead, all is gone. Man's soul--- his intellectual and emotional quantities--- is not based upon the physical, but upon the spirit. And when the body is dead, the spirit with its souls still exists.
