Exceedingly Growing Faith : "For me to live is Christ (His life in me), and to die is gain (the gain of the glory of eternity). If, however, is to be life in the flesh (the body) and I (the inward man) and to live on here, that means fruitful service for me; so I (the inward man) can said nothing as to my personal preference (I cannot choose), But I (the inward man) am hard pressed between the two. My yearning desire is to depart (to be free of this world, to set forth) and to be with Christ, for that is far, far better; But to remain in my body is more needful and essential for your sakes. Since I am convinced of this, I know that I shall remain and stay by you all, to promote your progress and joy in believing, So that in me you may have abundant calls for exaltation and glorying in Christ Jesus, through mine coming to you again." (Philippians 1:21- through 26) The Amplified Bible. The apostle Paul is saying here, "it's left up to me. I don't know whether I am going to choose to go on living here for a while or to die." Some People Say, "Oh, that's all in the hands of God." No ! It's in your hands. Many have missed it, thinking they were leaving it up to God as to whether or not they died, little realized they were actually leaving it up to the devil or Lucifer. The devil is the author of death, not God. Paul died exactly when he wanted to die. He said, "I don't know which I am going to choose." He did not say, "I don't know what God's will is," or "I don't know what God is going to choose for me," or "I am just praying that the will of the Lord be done." No ! That's where we miss it. Because of some religious teaching and theology of the mass millions of men and women that have went through seminary school. Paul said, "I (the inward man) don't know whether I shall choose to stay here (in the flesh) a while or whether I shall choose to go on." The inward man (the spirit) is the real man or the real woman. God is a Spirit. He became a man, for Jesus was God manifested in the flesh living in a human body. He took on a physical body, yet when He did He was no less God than He was before He had a physical body. We all have had loved ones, to die while we were standing right there beside the hospital bed. When they get a glimpse of the other side of eternity, they choose to leave their body. Even so, when man leaves his physical body at death, he is no less man or woman than they was when they had their physical body. This was true of the rich man; it was true of the beggar Lazarus; it was true in my own experience. It is the inward man (the spirit) who contacts and knows God. We cannot know God through our human knowledge, through the mind. God is only revealed to man and woman through their spirit. And when I say "through the spirit" I am not referring to the Holy Spirit, but to man's spirit. It is the spirit of man that contacts God, for God is a Spirit.
