CONFESSION BRINGS POSSESSION: God told Israel He had given them the land, but they were to go in and possess it. They had to do their part ! The land belong to the, yet they didn't possess it for 40 years because they believe more in circumstances and situations than in God's Word. Do that sounds familiar ? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief (Hebrews 3:19). Unbelief is caused by what you believe ! The word unbelief here literally means "disobedience." God said to possess it, but they said, "we That are not able." So they did not obey God and they did not possess the land until all who doubted God had died. They said that they were going to die in the wilderness and God heard as the talked among themselves in their tents that night. (Numbers 14:1 through 45). Our of the 12 spies, Joshua and Caleb were the only two who went in to possess the land. These two held fast to their confession which is their profession: "We are well able to take the land." For 40 years, they held fast to that one confession and they got what they said. Please understand, God is not marked, whatsoever man soweth that shall he or she shall reap. Let us therefore hold fast to our confession which is our profession of faith that we may possess those things that God says ours. The promised land is not a type of heaven, you have those who say they are Israelite and that they are going back to the promised land. As some believe, but a type of victorious living on the earth. We are well able to enter in through faith. And The Word of God is the object of your faith. MIX FAITH WITH YOUR WORDS : As I Have Stated before, your tongue is the mixer (Proverbs 18:21) "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." Israel became afraid of the giant. Doesn't that sound familiar ? Fear came because of the evil report. Fear is belief in the devils ability. When you are afraid something will happen, that means you believe it will happen. If you are afraid something bad will happen, that means you have more faith in the devils ability to hinder you than you have in God's ability to put you over. "Let us therefore fear. We can insert the word believe here. Let us therefore believe, last, a promise been left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it (Hebrews 4:1--2). The word priest did not profit them because it was not mixed with faith. Again, the tongue is the mixer. They didn't mix faith with what they heard. When we pray, we must mix faith with our words, based upon what the Words says. Just saying words is not prayer. Gary told is don't be like the heathens making long speeches thinking that you're going to be heard. Mix faith with your words. Israel did not mix faith with what they heard. They mixed fear with it. The mixer is the tongue (See Number 13:32--33).
