A MIRACULOUS TRANSFER ! Even the devil must have eventually come to that conclusion. He has no other explanation for what was going on. He must have been thinking, I don't know what terrible thing this man did, but somehow he has sinned in a way that has turned God totally against him. If he had any doubts about that, they were erased when, after Jesus died physically and spiritually, The sins of the World of, humanity- descended with Jesus the Christ spirit, Soul and body into hell. "Oh, come now," somebody might say. "Jesus didn't go to hell. He finished the work of redemption when He was on the Cross. He said so, Himself." No, when he said it is finished, He wasn't talking about redemption. Everyone who's heard the gospel no that the plan of redemption wasn't finished until after The Resurrection. So, Jesus couldn't possibly have been referring to that. What He declared on the cross was the end of the age of justification by animal sacrifice. He announced that with the shedding of His blood, the Old Testament type and shadow Of the Passover Lamb has been fulfilled. Mankind no longer had to slaughter animals to atone for their sin. The One, true, Sacrificial Lamb of God has come. The Old Covenant was finished. Small Wars have been fought between theologians over what happened next. Debates have raged over the question of what happened after Jesus yielded up His spirit on the cross. Did He die spiritually are not ? Did he go immediately To Paradise or plunge into the bowels of hell ? The Bible clearly answers those questions. The first few chapters of Genesis settle the fact that Jesus died Physically as well as spiritually. Those chapters prove that spiritual death--- is not just physical death it's spiritual death----it's the true penalty for sin. It's obvious that in (Genesis 2:17), when God said to Adam In the Garden of Eden, "in the day that thou eat thereof [of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil] thou shalt surely die," He wasn't talking about the death of Adams body. Adam didn't die physically the day he ate from the tree. He lived for another 930 years. The death God warned Adam about was spiritual death. Separation from God: it end with death that takes place when a spiritual being is separated from God. That's what spiritual death is--- separation from God. Adam and Eve experienced it the moment they sinned. they was immediately cut off from there relationship and fellowship with the Father, and the light of God's life and glory within them was snuffed out. For Jesus to become our substitute, He had to go through the same kind of separation. He had to die, not just physically, but spiritually, and descended into hell to suffer the whole penalty of sin. It shocks some people's religious sensibilities to think of Jesus in hell, but that doesn't change the fact that He went there. The Scriptures verify it again and again. They tell us that He descended "... Into the deep [or the bottomless pit]" before He was brought up from the dead (Romans 10:7); and that "his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption" (Acts 2:31). Psalms 18, which paints a detailed, prosthetic picture of what Jesus went through between the cross and the throne, declare, "The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me" (verse 5). This is what happens to the person or persons that rejects God's sacrificial Lamb (Jesus) they experience first spiritual death; separation from God: then physical death, then their spirit with its soul is laid into the bowels of hell. Not only did Jesus go to hail, He sank to the deepest, darkest part of it to suffer everything that was necessary on our behalf. We'll be forever glad he Did, too--- because had he not going to hell, we would have to. Had he stopped short of paying that price, we would have to pay it ourselves. The only reason we can walk debt-free through heaven's gate is because He paid it all. However, the true test of discipleship and the value of a soul: Then said Jesus unto his disciples , if any man will come after me , let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me . For whosoever will save his life shall lose it : and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul ? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul ? For the Son of Man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. This means you have to die to yourself, the appetites and sinful dictates of the flesh. Many dear people are practicing, fornication, adultery, drunkenness, and Lasciviousness: don't take my word for it: (1 Corinthians 6: 9-10) it is written: do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God ? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality, nor cheats (swindlers) and thieves) nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers and slanderers, nor extortioners and robbers will have any share in the kingdom of God. (Romans 1: 24 through 32) Galatians 5: 16 through 21) Colossians 3: 5 through 7).
