A FRESH INTEREST IN UNCLE FRED ! When Jesus had defeated the devil and his forces in the pit of hell, He turned to All the Old Covenant Believers who died in faith, waiting for the Messiah: who'd been held captive by death and preached the gospel to them. He declared to them, as He did later to the disciples, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and in earth." They believed it and were born again. The same Is true, if you are born again; in Jesus Christ, the same authority that was given unto him is given unto you because you are in Christ. When they did believe, Jesus said, "Come on, family. We're getting out of here. I like to think He linked arms with Abraham on one side and David on the other and march all of the Saints out of the place called Abraham's bosom in which there was a great golf fix between the dead and living, rejoicing out of captivity and into glory. When He escorted them through heaven's gate, the heavenly Father--- Compassion Himself--- Love Himself must have run to meet them, shouting, "Their Home ! There home ! There home at last !" Then, they had the most marvelous reunion celebration you can imagine--- a celebration they'd been looking forward to for 4000 years. From there, Jesus went back to the earth and spent 40 days ministering to the people. He wasn't the only one who did, either the Bible says that "many bodies of the saints which slept arose, and came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared to many." (Matthew 27:52). Wouldn't that be something ? Just think what a shock it would be to see uncle Fred or aunt Samantha who has been dead for 25 years, walking while the family is sitting at the breakfast table and said, "Good Morning, everyone ! I guess aunt Minnie and cousin Jeffrey and everyone else who has made fun of uncle Fred's faith would suddenly have a fresh interest in what he had to say ! You can believe what you want about it, but I'm persuaded that the same kind of thing will happen at the appearing of the Lord Jesus to take the Church, the body of Born-again set apart people that has renounced their selves and the world. Jesus set the pattern; not what is called church: and the Children of God are going to follow it. In the 40 days after our bodies are resurrected and glorified, I am convinced we'll make some appearances on earth, preach the gospel to some people and have the most amazing move of God we've ever seen. "But, doesn't the Bible say we'll be caught up in the twinkling of an eye ? You might ask. No, it says, Behold, I show you a mystery; we shall not all sleep (die), but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruptible, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting ? O grave, where is thy victory ? The sting of death is sin; and the sting of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (2 Corinthians 15: 51 through 57)." we'll be changed from mortality to immortality in the twinkling of an eye. It doesn't say we'll go to heaven that quickly. But you can read THE WORD of God, and study it out for yourself. And come to your own conclusion about it.
